Parniyan Goodarzi, H. Allen Tucker Appreciation Club Graduate Student Travel Scholarship

Parniyan Goodarzi is a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences at Oklahoma State University. Parniyan obtained her BS and MS degrees in Animal Science and Animal physiology from Shiraz University in 2015 and 2017, respectively. As an undergraduate and graduate student, Goodarzi was selected as valedictorian with GPA of 4. As a research assistant, Goodarzi has been working in Dr. Adel Pezeshki’s lab since Fall 2019, where her research is focused on the effect of dietary tryptophan on metabolic challenges in low birthweight piglets. Recently, Goodarzi received the 2021 Women’s Faculty Council award at Oklahoma State University. As a first author and coauthor, she has published two papers and six abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and national/international conferences, respectively. Goodarzi has been an ad-hoc reviewer for Livestock Science and has presented the results of her research as oral and/or poster in several scientific meetings.
