Monty S. Kerley, Animal Management Award

Monty S. Kerley is a professor of animal science at the University of Missouri and has established national and international recognition for his program in ruminant nutrition.

Kerley’s research program has focused on understanding how to enhance microbial efficiency and more accurately predict microbial efficiency in beef cattle.

Most recently, Kerley’s research has addressed ways to select for feed efficiency as well as lower feed costs of beef cattle diets. During the past 10 years, Kerley has published 38 refereed journal articles and has received more than $5 million in research funding.
