Ky G. Pohler, Agri-King Outstanding Animal Science Graduate Student Award

Ky G. Pohler received his BS degree at Texas A&M University and his Master of Science and PhD degrees in Animal Science (reproductive physiology) at the University of Missouri. Following graduation Pohler will be an assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) with a primary research appointment in beef cattle reproduction. Ky has done an excellent job of demonstrating excellence in each of the missions of the land grant mission: research, teaching, outreach, and service. His research studies have focused on mechanisms associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy in cattle and he has conducted studies at the University of Missouri, USDA Ft Keogh Livestock and Range Research Laboratory in Miles City, MT, and Brasil Farms in Brazil. He has published ten refereed journal articles, one book chapter, and twenty research abstracts.
