Darrh Bullock, Extension Award

Darrh Bullock was raised on a commercial cow/calf and watermelon family farm in Williston, Florida. He earned a BS and MS from Auburn University and his PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the University of Georgia. Dr. Bullock began his career at the University of Kentucky in 1992 and coordinates the beef breeding and genetic management educational activities in Kentucky. Darrh’s Extension programs have had impacts across the US. His Kentucky Model Genetic Improvement Program provided $35 million to Kentucky producers to improve beef cattle genetics through targeted sire selection. He has served in leadership roles at UK, in the ASAS Southern Region, the Beef Improvement Federation and National Beef Cattle Evaluation Consortium. He has been invited to speak in 22 states and abroad. Darrh has received numerous awards including two Outstanding Project Awards, Outstanding New Specialist, the Whiteker Extension Excellence Awards, and the ASAS Southern Section Extension Award.
