<p>Christina Phillips grew up in southeastern North Carolina and received her BS and MS in animal science from North Carolina State University. Phillips is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Minnesota, where she is advised by Yuzhi Li and Jerry Shurson. This travel scholarship will allow her to present research investigating the effect of gestation stage and parity on fear response in sows at the International Society of Applied Ethology Conference in Uppsala, Sweden, this August. </p>
