John W. Mabry, ASAS Fellow: Extension Category

Dr. Mabry’s contributions to Animal Science programs include teaching, extension, research and administration. He has been recognized for his efforts with the National Pork Board Distinguished Service Award, NSIF Distinguished Service Award, ASAS Animal Industry Award, ASAS Bouffant International Award, ISU Extension Excellence Award, CALS-ISU Extension Excellence Award, CALS-ISU International Award, Gamma Sigma Delta Mission Awards for Extension and International Programs, Brooks Teaching Award at UGA, AgHON Faculty Award from UGA, NACTA Outstanding Teaching Award, UGA Ag Alumni Teaching Award, B&B Teaching Awards at Wisconsin and Georgia, Graduate of Distinction Award from Oklahoma State University, and by the Iowa Pork Producers Association as an Honorary Master Pork Producer. He embodies the concept of understanding a problem, conducting research to find answers, and working directly with the industry to apply new technology to improve the industry and their sustainability.
