In 2008 ASAS launched a new Strategic Plan with the vision statement: ASAS is to be a diverse community of professionals recognized as the leading source of new knowledge and perspective on animals that enhance human life and well-being. The ASAS awards program is an excellent way to recognize the contributions of your colleagues and students.

The ASAS Award Nomination opens in the fall of the year with a deadline for completed submissions in February of the following year. Award Committees review the nominations and select outstanding ASAS professional and student members to be recognized. Awards will be presented at an Awards Ceremony during the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Animal Science. A representative of the donor will read the citation and make the presentation to the awardees; the Society President will represent the Society and the President-Elect will preside at the Awards Ceremony.
